Woodcrest Swim Club - Summer 2024!
Welcome existing and prospective Members!
Now in our 68th season, Woodcrest Swim Club provides summer fun and a great value to families and individuals. We hope you’re looking forward to another great summer at the pool. Some important club updates follow, or you can join or renew your membership online here.
Thank you to the numerous families, friends, and volunteers who played a pivotal role in the tremendous success of our 2023 season! We were delighted to welcome both new and familiar faces, revive cherished activities, unveil new favorites, introduce a new swim coaching team, and implement enhancements to our grounds and facilities.
Board of Trustees update
Our nine volunteer board members are Tamar Oded, Matt Ambrosino, Ryan Potts, Dan Holmes, Joe Weissinger, Meghan Henry, Brandon Litwin, Chris Lanci, and Christian Cantwell. We have three open board positions and welcome nominations throughout the summer for new members. Voting takes place at our annual meeting at the end of the season. Thank you to previous board members Bart Saidel, Matt Dopkin, and John Lass who kept the club running through Covid and contributed a considerable amount for the past many years. These are volunteer positions and are unpaid.
Activities
We have so much planned for this summer- holiday celebrations, movie nights, activities for younger and older kids, adult socials, tournaments, and games. We need volunteers to make it all happen. Spring Cleanup
Please look for information about our Spring clean up days. As members, we all own the club, and could use all of your help. Jobs for every age. Lunch provided!
Membership Rates
After four years without an increase, 2024 rates will see a 5% rise due to heightened staff and maintenance expenses. Take advantage of a 5% Early Bird Discount by paying in full before April 15th.
How you can save: 5% Early Bird Discount. Memberships paid in full by April 15th pay 2023 fees.
How you can save the club money: Pay by check. Just follow the instructions online. This saves the club about 3% in credit card processing fees.
Special Seniors and Empty Nesters: Our senior members are the heart of our club and we are grateful for their continued membership. These rates will not increase this year.
New Members: $150 off family memberships for new members!
Note that all members on a membership must live in the same household. Additional information may be requested.
WE’RE HIRING!
We offer highly flexible, fun, outdoor summer jobs! Must be 15 years old to apply. Lifeguards must have current Lifeguard/CPR certification. Submit an online application via our website or download a copy, for details: http://www.woodcrestswimclub.com/employment.
Swim Team
Building on the success of 2023, we are thrilled to continue growing our team in 2024 with Coach Ian returning as head coach. Coach Ian, with 13 years of coaching experience and ties to the East Coast C-Cerpants, brings enthusiasm and expertise to our program.
Swim Team practice begins Tuesday, May 30th. Team rates will NOT increase in 2024 and will remain at $135/swimmer. We are offering a new swimmer special of $75 for the season! This is for swimmers without past Woodcrest summer swim experience. For new swimmers who can swim 1 full lap, we will be offering our Training Squad. More details, and practice & meet schedules are on the team site.
Our Learn to Swim program is expanding! Taught by our coach or assistant coaches, these intensive programs run 5 days a week for 2 week sessions. More detail to come on the team site. These sessions will sell out, so please sign up in advance.
REGISTRATION will open on April 15th on the team site.

We accept any swimmer between the ages of 5 to 18 as of June 15, 2024.

Get Involved
You don’t have to be on the board to be on a committee! We need lots of help to keep the club running and make it better for everyone! We have the following committees: Finance, Membership, Operations, Facilities & Maintenance, Swim Team & Athletics, Social & Activities, Camps & Parties, Communications & Technology. We can always use help from those that are handy! Let us know what you can help with.
